About us
Felsentor (the rock gate) is located on the car-fee Mount Rigi, perched 2400 feet above Lake Luzern surrounded by pastures and forests with a view of the high Alps. The Felsentor Foundation was created in 1999 with the intention of establishing at this auspicious spot a place for retreats where one can meet oneself, the other, nature, the ultimate.
We are a small Zen-Buddhist inspired community which finds guidance in the meditative and contemplative traditions of all religions. In addition to organizing workshops and seminars, we are in the process of establishing a center for animal rights with an animal sanctuary. During the summer months, we run a small vegetarian restaurant and cultivate a large vegetable and flower garden.
Felsentor offers a wide range of courses and retreats for people to investigate the great matter and/or to acquire and deepen their skills in meditation and body awareness.
